Spring Forward, fall back and Bernard Sumner
Here's a couple of drab pics of my running exploits in spring. The Toki (Japanese red crested ibis a very endangered species (it was actually extinct and Chinese ones are being reintroduced) that inhabits the island) 'marathon' is a 10 Km run in and around Niibo on Sado and was back on the 12th of March, and it snowed. The Mano Sakura (cherry blossom) marathon is another 10Km which was held on April the 16th. Again the weather wasn't great so there was no Hanami (cherry blossom picnic) party. I didn't break any land speed records but I managed the second race in just over 40 minutes which is a personal best. The only other notable thing was that during the first race, when it snowed, I was wearing a cheap speaking (in Japanese) watch which one of the teachers had given me for a laugh. But it wasn't water proof and packed up when I was half way round the course. I was navigating by smell after that.
A piece of advice for any fatties out there. If you want to lose some beef, get off your erse and run. It doesn't need to be fast but if you run far enough you'll sweat concentrated lard and lose weight even off those stuborn pinkies. As with any physical exercise please consult a GP first, if that is, you can be bothered getting of the afore mentioned erse.
